Abode Energy Management
The Project
Abode was creating a tool to help consumers in the process of buying a heat pump. The tool allows consumers to enter in the details for up to 5 different heat pump systems, and then generates a report comparing each of the system. Abode recognized that the information in the report is technical, but needed to be presented to clearly and concisely presented to consumers. They brought me in to design this report.
The Process
Work with management and subject matter experts to understand user needs
Work with technical experts to understand the information to be presented
Create data visualizations for each report section
Conduct iterative UX and visual design for report
Create UX specification and work with dev team to support implementation
The Work
Abode Energy Management had developed a powerful tool to help consumers compare quotes for heat pump systems. But they were worried that the design of the tool was too complex. I worked with Abode to completely redesign the content, UI and visual design of the tool. The new tool presents consumers with just the information they need to make an informed buying decision, and does so in a clear, clean and modern way.
